Posted - 02/22/2010 : 19:24:40 I have a big drum collecting water from rain and I have a small orchard where I have vegetables and spices. We have two 165W solar panels connected to 6 batteries and we use it to power our outside lights, our garage, to power the lawnmower and also as a back up in case of hurricanes. I had our orchard being watered by our normal sprinkler system when I realized we could use our small solar system to to that and also save water. I bought some 5mm tubing at Home Depot and a pack of plastic T splitters to interconnect the tubing. I bought a 12V DC windshield washer pump at an auto parts discount and a 12V DC Timer from Brazix model BRX1224PTS1 I now have the rain water being used to water the orchard and I can set this timer to up to 6 events daily. I have the timer turning the pump ON from 6:00AM to 6:25AM, from 11:00AM to 11:15AM, from 3:00PM to 3:15PM and from 6:00PM to 6:25PM. Here in Miami is too hot this time of the year and the plants really like the 4 times/day shower. |

Posted - 10/18/2011 : 20:21:15 Hi RainTracker The 12 V DC pump draws 2.5 Amps. I don't know the brand because it does not have it printed on the pump housing. Just go to a discount auto part store and ask for a windshield pump. |

Hi ! Can you please tell me how many Amps does the pump draw? Also, do you have the part number and where exactly did you buy it? Thanks in advance |

Posted - 02/22/2010 : 19:31:18 Hello Keith Yes, it will. Just make sure the pump doesn't use more than 15A. |
