We have bought some 4W LED Light Bulb 12V DC and they work fantastic.
Previously we had 2 9W CFL on our backyard that were connected to a timer and a 12VDC > 120V AC Inverted. Everything is feed by our battery bank charged by solar panels.
We had a total of 18W being consumed by the CFLs + the loss from the conversion form 12V DC.
Now we have 3 4W 12V DC LED light bulbs part number BRXL12DCB4 that together only consume only 12W and the backyard is brighter then before.
We have less drain on batteries and another side of our back yard, that was on the dark before, has been now illuminated.
The shell of the light bulb is transparent what avoid losses like on the semi opaque shells. All in all we're pretty happy.

Hi,
I can relate to your feelings as we have done something alike about 4 months ago.
With the winter arriving soon the Solar panels will become lazy and we need to be frugal with the Watts we use.
I have a question about the LED Light Bulb BRXL12DCB4 you're using.
Can they be used outside? Are they weatherproof? The question is because we have a large area in front of our house and we would like to put some extensions but ours are not weatherproof.
Thanks!
